Mishthaan Cafe

Down here on MB Road near RPS Colony 7, the traffic is almost always loud. Mishthaan Cafe sits right in the middle of that Khanpur bustle, and we’re used to the noise by now. Most of our morning is spent setting up the displays and making sure the snacks are laid out properly. It’s a local place, so we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names or at least their usual order. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just serving up what people like to eat when they’re passing through or living nearby. The floor is tile and it gets a lot of wear from all the shoes coming in off the dusty street. Sometimes the air conditioner struggles when it’s really hot outside, but people still come in to sit for a few minutes. We have a lot of containers and bags stacked behind the counter because people are always taking things home to their families. The staff here has been around for a bit, so we have our own way of doing things that might seem a little disorganized to an outsider, but it makes sense to us. It’s just a regular neighborhood spot where you can grab a bite and watch the cars crawl by on the main road. We keep the counters wiped down and the lights on until late evening when the traffic finally starts to thin out a bit.
