Mcdonalds over here at B-I-17 Lajpat Nagar is always a hub of activity. If you’ve been to New Delhi 110024, you know how packed the streets get. Our place is no different. We spend the whole day flipping burgers and dropping fries into the oil. The sound of the fryers beeping is something we hear even after we go home. It’s a fast-paced environment and we’re usually on our feet for the whole shift. The counter gets crowded around lunchtime with people looking for a quick meal before they head back to work or shopping in the market. We try to keep the tables wiped down, but with so many people coming through, it’s a constant job. The air smells like salt and grilled meat. We have a crew that’s been working together for a while, so we kind of know how to stay out of each other's way in the kitchen. It’s not a fancy dining room, just a place to grab something and go. Sometimes the ice cream machine acts up, which is a bit of a pain, but we deal with it. We’re just a regular part of the neighborhood, serving food to whoever walks through the door. It’s loud, it’s busy, and it’s what we do every day. We don't worry about the fluff, just making sure the orders are filled correctly and the customers are fed. It’s honest work that keeps the neighborhood moving through the day.
