Niti Bagh is a pretty nice area, and being at A-96 means we get some of that peace and quiet. Marwar Carpets International isn’t some massive factory; it’s more of a place where we manage the stacks and stacks of rugs we handle. If you come inside, you’ll see piles of wool and silk everywhere. It can get a bit heavy moving those things around, so we’re all used to a bit of heavy lifting. My hands usually feel a bit rough from touching the fibers all day. We spend hours checking the knots and making sure the colors look okay under the light. Sometimes the light in the back isn't great, so we drag the carpets toward the front window. It’s mostly just a routine of rolling and unrolling things. We have a small desk where the paperwork piles up, but we prefer being on the floor with the carpets. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we don’t get too much noise from the road, which is a relief. We’ve been at this for a long time, so we don't really think about it much, we just do it. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a breather. It’s a simple setup. There’s no big sign or anything flashy. Just a solid door and a lot of work going on behind it. We try to keep the place organized, but with so many carpets, it is usually a losing battle.
