About Maharashtra Food Stall – Food & Beverages in South Delhi
I’ve been at stall 20 in Mehrauli Dilli Haat for a while now. It gets really busy here on the weekends when everyone comes to shop for crafts and then they get hungry. We mostly just keep our heads down and cook. It’s a small space, so you really have to be organized. The morning starts early getting everything ready before the gates open to the public. You can hear the craft sellers setting up their bags and rugs next door. Some days are hot, especially when the sun hits the roof, but we have a few fans going. People come by for a quick bite while they carry their shopping bags around. It’s not fancy or anything. Just a regular food stall doing Maharashtra style snacks. We see a lot of tourists and locals who just want something different from the usual stuff you find in the city. The menu is simple and we try not to change it too much because people like what they know. Sometimes we run out of things if the crowd is too big. That’s just how it goes here. We’ve seen the market change over the years but stall 20 stays pretty much the same. It’s just us working every day and making sure the food is ready for whoever walks up to the counter and asks for a plate. It is simple work but it keeps us on our feet all day long.
