Maa Durga Elastic Works

You’ll find Maa Durga Elastic Works at 2/89, Govind Puri Kalkaji. It’s a busy workshop where there is always the sound of machinery or something being moved around. We work with elastic, so there are rolls of it in every color and size you can imagine. The floors are usually covered in little offcuts by the end of the day. It’s a hands-on kind of place. We don’t sit in fancy chairs; we are usually on our feet checking the machines or packing up bundles for our customers. Govind Puri is a crowded neighborhood, and our space is right in the middle of all that noise and life. It gets pretty warm in the summer, but we have a few big fans that help a bit. Maa Durga Elastic Works is a small operation, and we like to keep it that way so we can see everything that’s going on. We often have tea together in the afternoons while we wait for the next delivery truck to arrive. There’s no big marketing team here, just us doing the work we’ve been doing for years. We know most of our customers by their first names and they know where to find us. It’s honest work, and while it’s dusty and loud sometimes, we wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here in Kalkaji. We just keep the machines oiled and the orders moving out to the garment shops.
