La Floral

We’ve got our shop, La Floral, over at E-55/9 in Krishna Park. It’s a busy little spot and we are usually surrounded by stems and leaves all over the floor. We spend our mornings getting the fresh flowers in and trimming them down so they stay hydrated. It’s not always pretty work, especially when the thorns poke you or the water gets everywhere, but it’s what we do. People come in for all sorts of reasons, sometimes for birthdays or just because they’re in trouble with their partners. We try to keep a good variety on hand, depending on what the market has that week. The shop smells like a mix of wet dirt and lilies most of the time. We aren't a giant chain, just a local place where we know a lot of the neighbors by name. Sometimes we run out of certain colors, but we usually find something else that works. It gets really crowded in here during the holidays, and we’re usually working late to finish up bunches for people to pick up. Krishna Park is a good area for us, and we like being part of the street. It’s a lot of manual work, cutting ribbon and cleaning out buckets, but we’re used to it by now. If you walk past, you’ll probably see us out front moving crates around or tidying up the display near the door.
