Kadari Pan Bhandar

You can find Kadari Pan Bhandar at 252/A in Shahpur Jat, right near the Bank of India. It’s a bit of a maze in this neighborhood, with all the narrow lanes and designers, but we’ve been here since before it got so popular. My father started this place, and I took over when his back started giving him trouble. The shop is quite narrow, so you can’t really fit more than two people inside comfortably. We spend most of our time prepping things in the back or leaning over the front counter. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it keeps us busy. We have an old fridge that hums loudly, which can be annoying when you’re trying to have a conversation. The walls are painted a dull blue that we haven't changed in years. We don't use any fancy apps or computers; everything is done with a pen and a notebook. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles, which makes the place look a bit strange. Customers usually know what they want before they even walk up. We don’t push them to buy anything extra. It’s just a place to get what you need and move on. Shahpur Jat has changed a lot, with all the new boutiques, but we’re still just a basic pan bhandar. We stick to what we know and try to be here.
