Jawahar General Store

Jawahar General Store is located right in the heart of the Main Market in Yusuf Sarai. We are very close to AIIMS, so we get a lot of people passing through, not just the locals who live here. Our shop is at number 41487, and it’s a typical busy market store. Because we are in Yusuf Sarai, it’s always loud and there’s always something happening outside. We sell basic things that families and even people visiting the hospital might need—snacks, drinks, toiletries, and everyday groceries. It’s a narrow shop, so we have things stacked quite high to make use of the space. I’ve been working here for a long time, and I’ve seen the market change a lot over the years. Some days it’s so crowded you can barely move on the street, but that’s just life in this part of Delhi. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights, just the essentials on the shelves. Most of our regulars are the shopkeepers nearby or the families in the back lanes. I usually have tea with the guy next door when it’s quiet. We don't bother with much paperwork beyond the basic bills. It’s a simple way to earn a living, and we’ve been at 41487 Main Market for as long as I can remember.
