About Indian Arts & Crafts Syndicate – Housewares & Supplies in South Delhi
We have been operating out of Gulab House at G-27 Kailash Colony for quite some time now. People usually find us by looking for the gate or asking around the block, as the signage isn't always the biggest. Inside the syndicate, things can look a bit messy because there are always crates and samples of different Indian arts and crafts sitting around. We handle a lot of traditional items, things made by hand in different villages. It is just a few of us here keeping track of the inventory and making sure the orders go out to where they need to go. Kailash Colony is a busy spot, so there is always noise from the street, but once you get inside Gulab House, it is a bit quieter. We don't have a fancy showroom with glass cases or anything like that. It’s more of a workspace where we sort through the woodwork, the textiles, and the metal pieces that come in. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just keep working by the windows. We’ve known the neighbors for years, and it feels like a real community. We don't spend much time on decorating the office since the focus is really on the items themselves. Usually, someone is here from early morning until the sun goes down, just checking the lists and packing things up carefully in bubble wrap and old newspaper. It is just a regular day-to-day operation for us.
