Hannan'S Oriental Rugs

My family has been doing this rug thing for a long time. We are down in the basement at C-119 in Lajpat Nagar-Ii. It is not a fancy showroom or anything like that. Just lots of stacks of oriental rugs everywhere you look. People come in looking for something for their living room or maybe just a small runner. We spend most of the day moving heavy piles around so customers can see the patterns at the bottom. It gets a bit dusty down here, but that is how it goes when you deal with wool and old textiles. My uncle started this and now I help run things. We mostly just talk to neighbors or people who heard about us from a friend. If you walk past the main shops and find the stairs, you will see us. We have all kinds of colors and sizes. Some are very old and some are newer. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to roll and unroll these things without hurting our backs too much. Lajpat Nagar is always busy, but down here it stays pretty quiet. We keep the lights on and wait for someone to drop by. It is just a regular shop where we handle rugs every day. There isn't much more to it than that. We just show up, open the doors, and work with what we have. It is simple work.
