Handmades

Handmades is tucked away at Plot 12, Zakir Nagar West, Okhla, right near New Friends Colony. It’s an interesting spot because you get a mix of the busy Okhla energy and the quieter residential feel of the colony. Our workspace is pretty much what you’d expect from the name. It’s full of tools, materials, and half-finished projects. We don't have a showroom with bright spotlights. Instead, we have worktables covered in scraps and sketches. It’s a bit disorganized at times, but that’s usually when we’re at our most productive. We are a small group of people who just like making things with our hands. We don’t spend money on big advertising campaigns. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them about our little spot on Plot 12. We don’t have a set script for when customers call or visit. We just talk like we normally do. Sometimes we get distracted by the tea seller who comes by, and we take a short break outside. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, though we do work hard to finish what we start. We aren't trying to compete with the big factories. We just want to keep making things in our own way, right here in Zakir Nagar. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but the work we do inside is what really matters to us. We just take it one project at a time until the day is over.
