About Fashionery – Fashion & Trends in South Delhi
If you head down to Okhla Indl. Area, Phase-I, you’ll find us at F-3/8. It’s a tight spot, like most places in this part of Delhi. The traffic getting here in the morning is always a bit of a headache, especially near the main intersections. Once we’re inside the gates, things settle into a routine. We have some sewing machines and cutting tables spread out over the floor. It’s not the quietest environment. There’s usually the hum of the machines and someone shouting across the room to be heard over the noise. We handle a lot of fabric and thread every single day. You’ll find scraps on the floor and rolls of material leaning against the walls in every corner. We don’t have a fancy reception area. Most people who come here are either delivering supplies or picking up finished bundles. The lighting isn't great, but we make do with what we have. It gets pretty stuffy in the afternoons, so we keep the doors open as much as we can to let some air in. We’ve been operating out of this unit for a while. We know the other business owners nearby and we sometimes borrow tools from each other when something breaks. Fashionery isn't a high-fashion boutique; it's a working factory floor where we focus on the stitches and the seams. It’s tiring work, and our hands are usually a bit sore by the end of the day. We just try to get the work done right.
