We are over in Khanpur at C-5, Colonel Farm. New Delhi is always a bit frantic, but this part of town has its own weird rhythm. It’s not exactly a farm anymore, but the name stuck from a long time ago. Working here for Fabindia Overseas Pvt. Ltd. means dealing with the Delhi dust and the constant noise of traffic in the distance. Our office is a mix of old furniture and stacks of paperwork that we really should organize better. It’s a bit cramped when everyone is in at the same time. We spend a lot of time on the phone, trying to get things delivered or fixed. The air conditioning is a lifesaver during those July months when it feels like everything is melting. We aren't a big corporate office with glass walls and silent hallways. It’s usually pretty loud here with someone always shouting about a missed deadline or where the stapler went. We have a small kitchen area where we make way too much coffee. It’s a real place where real work happens, nothing more. Sometimes we wonder how we fit so much stuff into C-5, but somehow we make it work every single day. People stop by and they’re often surprised by how busy it is. We just keep our heads down and get through the pile of work on our desks. It’s a bit messy and a bit loud, but it’s our space in the middle of Delhi.
