Competent Craft

Up on the first floor at 98/19 Zakir Nagar, we keep ourselves pretty busy. Okhla is a fast-paced place to be. Competent Craft is where we do all our handwork every day. There is usually a lot of scrap material and thread on the floor by the time we finish in the evening. We have three big wooden tables and a few sewing machines that have seen better days. The light is actually quite good near the windows, so we do all the detail work over there. I have been doing this kind of work since I was a kid. It is just what I know how to do. We do not have a fancy showroom for customers. If someone wants to see what we are making, they just have to come up the stairs and look around the workshop itself. It can get a bit hot in the summer because the ceiling is quite low. We have a few big fans, but they mostly just move the warm air around the room. The neighbors downstairs sometimes complain if we make too much noise with the tools, so we try to be quiet in the early mornings. Zakir Nagar is a total maze of streets. If you aren't from around here, you might get lost trying to find our building. But once you find us, there is always someone here working away at a desk.
