Up on the 5th floor of 71 Nehru Place is where you’ll find Cifc Pvt. Ltd. It’s one of those big buildings where the lift takes forever, so some of us just end up taking the stairs when we're in a hurry, even if it leaves us out of breath. Nehru Place is always a bit of a mess with all the electronics shops and people everywhere, but it’s where everything happens. Our office is tucked away at the end of the hall. It’s mostly just us sitting at computers and talking on the phone. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. There’s usually a stack of files on someone’s desk that needs filing, and the coffee machine makes a weird clicking noise every time you use it. We’ve been operating from this floor for a while now. It gets pretty hot in the summer, so we keep the fans going all day long. Sometimes we grab lunch from the stalls downstairs because it’s quicker than bringing something from home. It’s just a regular workplace with regular people trying to get through the daily tasks. We don’t do anything too flashy here. Most of the time it’s just about keeping the records straight and making sure the clients are satisfied with what we’ve done for them. It’s a solid routine that we’ve fallen into over the years. We just try to do right by the people we work with.
