Chauhan General Store

If you are in Badarpur, you might have seen Chauhan General Store. We are in Building Number B29A, right near the PNB ATM. Having the ATM nearby is handy because people always have cash when they walk past my door. This part of Delhi is always crowded and noisy, with buses and rickshaws going in every direction. My shop is just a small slice of that chaos. I’ve filled every inch of the walls with goods, from snacks and drinks to cleaning supplies and stationery. It’s a one-man show for the most part. I open up early because the commuters heading to the metro or the bus stand need things before they start their day. I don’t use any of those complicated computer systems for my sales. I just use a notebook and a calculator. The building is simple, nothing fancy, but it keeps the rain off the stock. I’ve been in Badarpur for years and I’ve seen it grow into the busy hub it is today. Customers are usually in a hurry, so I try to be quick. I don't have a mission statement or a fancy logo. I just have a shop that sells what people need at a fair price. It’s a basic life, but I like the independence of running my own store in such a lively part of Delhi. You see the whole world pass by from this doorstep.
