Chaat Tadka

Chaat Tadka is our little shop at Friends Colony 8. It is a small spot, really just enough room for us to prepare the food and for a few people to stand around and eat. We focus on chaat and snacks, so there is always a strong smell of spices and oil in the air. We don't have space for tables or anything corporate like that. It is just a local place where we serve people who are passing by or who live in the colony houses. We spend a lot of time chopping vegetables and mixing the different chutneys every morning before we open. Everything is done right there behind the small counter. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when it gets busy in the evenings after work hours. Friends Colony is a quiet area, but our spot is very basic. We have a few regulars who come by almost every day just to see what we are making. We aren't a big chain, just a single shop trying to do things ourselves. The floor gets a bit wet from cleaning and the counter is always covered in bowls and spoons. It is a lot of work to keep it all going every day but we like the rhythm of it. We have been at number 8 for a while now and we have become part of the daily life around the block.
