Bhat Carpet Industries

Our office is up on the first floor over at 0-8/A in Jangpura Extension. It is a little bit different from being right on the ground floor because you get a better view of the street below, but it still has that same quiet neighborhood vibe. We deal mostly with carpets here, so the rooms are always filled with that specific smell of wool and old textiles. We spend a lot of our time unrolling big rugs to show them to people and then rolling them right back up again. It is actually a lot of physical work, and my back usually starts to ache by the time I head home in the evening. We have a small team working here. We are not some massive factory with hundreds of people; it is more about managing the orders and checking that the quality is where it should be. The first floor gets a decent amount of sunlight during the day, which is really helpful for looking at the different colors and dyes in the rugs. We have a few old wooden desks and some filing cabinets that have definitely seen better days. It is a comfortable enough place to work, though. We know the local shopkeepers nearby and sometimes go down to the corner to get a snack in the afternoon. We do not have a marketing department. We just rely on the work we have done before and the people who already know us. It is a straightforward business.
