We’re located down in the basement at B.O.C.-96 in Lajpat Nagar-Ii. It’s not the easiest place to spot from the street, but we’ve been here at Baba Cottage Industries for a long time. Working in a basement means we don't get much sunlight, but it keeps us focused on the tasks at hand. Lajpat Nagar is always bustling, and the noise from upstairs filters down sometimes. We don't mind the noise. It’s a practical space for what we do. There’s a lot of stuff packed into these rooms. We handle various cottage industry goods, mostly just small-scale production stuff. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We wear our everyday clothes and get our hands dirty. Sometimes the stairs are a bit much when we’re carrying heavy boxes up and down, but that’s just part of the life here. Most people who come to see us are looking for something specific they can’t find in the big malls nearby. We just do our work and go home. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot from our little basement spot. It’s a bit cramped, honestly, with shelves all the way to the ceiling. But we know where everything is. Baba Cottage Industries is just a local business trying to stay steady. We don’t have fancy brochures or a website. If you need us, you just head down the steps at B.O.C.-96 and look for our door near the bottom.
