Auchan

This Auchan is on the ground floor at 81C in Gautam Nagar, New Delhi. Being in 110049 means we’re in a pretty cramped but lively part of the city. We’re right there on the street level, so we see everyone walking by. The space isn't huge, so we have to be smart about how we stack things. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a big shipment in. We’ve been running this shop for a bit now, and we’ve gotten to know the students and families who live around Gautam Nagar. It’s a fast-paced environment. People are always in a rush in Delhi, so we try to move as quick as we can. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls. We just have price tags and boxes. Some days the heat outside is unbearable, and everyone huddles near the coolers. We’ve had our share of leaks and flickering lights, but we just call the local repairman and get on with it. It’s not a perfect setup, but it works for us and for the people who shop here. We don't try to be anything we’re not. We’re just a neighborhood store trying to keep the essentials available for whoever walks through the door. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us on our toes from the moment we open the shutters in the morning.
