Atul Seeds & General Store

Atul Seeds & General Store is located at 39 Diwan Chowk in Samman Bazar Bhogal. We’ve been in this part of Bhogal for quite some time now. The shop is small and usually smells a bit like earth and dried spices because of the seeds we keep in the back. Samman Bazar is a very crowded place, especially in the mornings when everyone is out buying things for their homes. We open the shutters around 9:30 or 10:00 depending on how bad the traffic is. There are sacks of vegetable seeds sitting near the entrance. We also have general items like soap, brooms, and plastic buckets. The shelves are a bit old and they creak a lot when we put heavy bags on them. We don't have a fancy computer system; we just use a notebook and a pen to keep track of what we sell. The ceiling fan is quite loud and wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving I guess. Diwan Chowk is always noisy with the sounds of horns and people shouting, but we are used to it by now. We spend most of our day sitting behind the wooden counter. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat for a few minutes about the weather or the price of onions. It is a simple life here in the market. We just try to keep the shop clean and make sure we have what people are looking for. It's just a regular local shop.
