Sagar Agritech Pvt Ltd is based in Nehru Place, at B-5, Dahil Chamber, number 46. If you’ve been to Nehru Place in Delhi, you know it’s a total maze of buildings and people selling electronics everywhere. Our office is right in the thick of it. It’s a busy building and the elevators are always slow, so we often just take the stairs. Working in agritech from a city center like this might seem a bit odd to some, but it’s where all the connections are. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people in different states. The office is usually quite loud with everyone talking at once. We have files stacked up on the desks and maps of different regions on the walls. It’s a functional space. We don’t have any of those modern glass partitions or bean bags. It’s just old-fashioned desks and chairs. The tea lady comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us. Outside, the streets are always crowded with people looking for computer parts, but inside we’re focused on seeds and farming technology. It’s a bit of a contrast. We’ve been in Dahil Chamber for a good long while now and we know the security guards and the other business owners on our floor. It’s a community of its own in this concrete block. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day.
