Asmi Creation

Out on Mandi Road, near the Happy Farm area in Sultanpur, is where Asmi Creation is based. It’s a bit further out than some of the city shops, which is nice because it’s a little quieter. We do our creative work here, mostly focusing on making things that people actually use. The space is basically an old building that we’ve made our own over the years. We have a lot of stuff piled up because we hate throwing away materials that might be useful for a future project. You can see the farm fields from the back window, which is a nice change from the usual city view we used to have. It’s just a handful of us working together every day. We don’t wear uniforms or have big meetings about our goals. We just show up, see what needs to be finished, and get to it. Some of the equipment is old but we know how to handle it correctly. The road out here gets very dusty in the summer and quite muddy when it rains, so we’re always cleaning the floors. We don’t have a big fancy office for visitors, just a couple of plastic chairs and a desk covered in papers and scrap. We spend our days cutting, stitching, and checking the quality of what we make. It’s a simple life and we enjoy the work we do without making a big fuss about it. We are just happy to have a roof over our heads and enough work to keep us busy.
