Akshat Traders

We are located on the second floor at 194-B in Ramesh Market which is in the Garhi part of East Of Kailash. It’s a typical Delhi market scene so it’s always crowded and noisy down on the street. Coming up to the second floor gives us a little bit of a break from the shouting and the horns but not much. Akshat Traders is a small operation. We have a couple of desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of ledgers. Most of our time is spent on the phone or talking to people who walk in looking for deals. Trading is all about who you know and keeping your word so we spend a lot of time just talking. The stairs up to our office are a bit narrow and steep so we don’t get too many people just wandering in by mistake. Usually it’s people who know exactly why they are here. We have a small window that looks out over the rooftops of Garhi. It’s not much of a view but it lets some light in. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. Lunch is usually something brought from home or ordered from one of the stalls downstairs. We just keep our heads down and try to get through the daily list of tasks without too much trouble. It’s a basic life in a busy market but it works for us.
