Vasmat Ekta Agro Producer Companylimited is based right on Nanded Road in Basmath, which is in the Hingoli district. We are at Datta Govind Pawde’s place, Plot 4, which is a convenient spot for most of us to get to. The "Ekta" part of our name means unity, and that is really why we started this. Farming in Basmath can be a real struggle if you are doing it all by yourself. You have to handle the planting, the bugs, the harvest, and then try to find someone to buy it all without getting cheated. We figured if we pooled our resources, we could handle the transport and the selling much better. Datta Pawde has been a big help in keeping us organized. We are not experts in business or anything, we just know how to grow things in the Hingoli soil. We spend our days in the sun and our evenings talking about the price of diesel or the cost of seeds. There is no corporate ladder here, just a group of farmers who are tired of being the last ones to get paid. We work hard, we get dirty, and we try to look out for each other. Sometimes the crops are great and sometimes they are not, but having the company means we are not facing the bad years alone. It is just a local effort to keep our farms going and our families fed.
