Shribhimashankar Agro Producer Company Limited

We are set up at House Number 683, near Karphata in Ranjani. Shribhimashankar Agro Producer Company Limited is the name we use for our collective farming work. It is a bit of a trek to get out here sometimes, but it is good land for what we grow. We focus on what grows best in this part of Karmala. Most of us have been working these fields since we were boys. The company is just a way to make the business side of it a bit more official than it was before. We meet up at the house to discuss who is buying what and how we can get a better deal on diesel or seeds. It isn't a very formal setup. You will likely find us sitting on the porch talking rather than behind a desk. We have a lot of respect for the land and the tradition of farming here. Sometimes the crops fail because of a bad monsoon, and we just have to figure out how to get through until next season. That is just part of the job. We don't try to sugarcoat it or make it sound like we are some huge corporation. We are just local farmers trying to make a living and keep our families going. If you come by, the tea is usually on and we are happy to chat about the weather or the harvest. It is a quiet life but we like it.
