Shetisurya Agro Producer Company Limited

Our group, Shetisurya Agro Producer Company Limited, runs out of Raigaon village in the Karmala taluka. We are based at Rajendra Waghmare’s place. If you know the Solapur district, you know it can get quite hot and the work is never really done. We aren't a big corporation with some glass office in the city. We are just local people who work the land and decided to pool our resources together. Working out of a post like Raigaon means we are right where the crops are grown. This makes it easier to keep track of what is happening in the fields. We use the space at Rajendra’s house to coordinate the transport and talk about what seeds we should be using. It is a lot of back-and-forth communication between the farmers in the area. We try to keep things simple because farming is complicated enough as it is. Most days involve someone stopping by to ask about the latest news from the market or to settle some accounts. We don't have any big speeches or grand plans. We just want to make sure the work we do in the sun all day actually pays off. It is about making the most of what we have and helping each other out when things get difficult. There is always a lot to do, especially when the season changes and everyone is rushing to get things ready for the harvest.
