Rajbiroba Farmer Producer Company is basically run out of house number 88 in Sakur. We are a small bunch of farmers who realized that working alone wasn't cutting it anymore. Sakur is a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway, so starting a company together felt natural. We don't have a professional secretary or a front desk. If you come by, you’ll probably just find one of us sitting there with a notebook trying to keep the accounts straight. The walls have some old calendars on them and maybe a map of the local fields. We spend most of our time worrying about the insects or if the rain is going to hold off until the harvest is done. It’s a stressful job sometimes, but we like being our own bosses. We try to share whatever tools we have so nobody has to go out and buy something expensive they’ll only use once a year. It’s a lot of practical thinking and getting our hands dirty every single day. We are just trying to build something that lasts for our families. There’s no big secret to what we do, just a lot of hard work and staying patient when things don’t go our way. We’re just local folks doing what we know how to do best, and we take things one season at a time.
