You can find us over at house number 15 in Mandawkhel, at Shahurao Pralhad Kadam’s place. We are known as Mandavkhel Farmers Producer Company Limited. We are just a bunch of local farmers who decided that working together was better than working alone. Around here, everyone knows how hard it is to get a decent return for your labor. We spend months in the fields, and then you have to deal with the traders who always want to pay less. We set this up so we could have a little more control over where our produce goes. The office is just a simple space in the village. It’s where we gather to talk about the price of seeds or which crops are doing well this year. There’s no big sign or fancy furniture. It’s just us, sitting around and trying to solve the daily problems that come with farming. We have plenty of disagreements, but at the end of the day, we’re all in the same boat. We don't have a marketing department or any of that corporate stuff. We just know the land and we know the people. It’s a lot of physical work, and the paperwork part is honestly a bit of a headache for most of us. But we do it because it’s the only way to make sure our families are okay. We’re just trying to be honest about the work and keep things moving forward for everyone in Mandawkhel.
