Maa Anita Farmers Producer Company Limited

You can find us at Plot Number 50A, which is part of Gat Number 272 in Prabhag 4. It is a bit of a specific address, but once you get to the area, most people can point you toward us. We named the company Maa Anita. We are just a local group of farmers who wanted to have a bit more say in how our crops are sold. The space we have is quite basic, just a building on the plot where we store some things and do our bookkeeping. It’s not very organized looking to an outsider, with bags of samples here and there and stacks of papers on the tables. We don’t have a cleaning crew or anything, so we just tidy up ourselves when things get too messy. Most of our days are spent discussing the crops and trying to figure out the best timing for the market. It’s a lot of work and sometimes we disagree on things, but we always figure it out. We aren't a big business with a bunch of managers. It is just us, the people who actually grow the food, sitting around a table trying to make a living. The area around Plot 50A is growing a bit, but it’s still mostly about the land for us. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day without making a big fuss about it.
