You can find us at House Number 9 in Kumbhargaon, which is in the Karmala taluka of Solapur. It is a very dry part of the country, so we are always thinking about water and how it affects the farms. The house is a basic one right in the middle of the village. We have a small sign on the wall, but most people just know where we are. We work with the farmers around here to try and get the best results from the land. Solapur is known for being very hot, so our office is usually quite warm. We keep the windows open and use simple fans to keep the air moving. You will see a lot of dusty boots near our door because we are always coming in from the fields. It is not a polished or clean office like you would find in a city. We have maps of the local area pinned to the walls and a lot of notebooks on the table. We spend a lot of time out in the sun ourselves, so we know how hard the work is. We aren't trying to sell anyone a dream. We just deal with the daily reality of farming life. People stop by on their tractors to talk about the rain or the price of grain. We are just a small part of the life here in Kumbhargaon.
