Jiwatikanya Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in Shengaon. We work out of Smt Vidyatai Budruwan Mushne’s home. It’s a humble setup, but it serves us well for what we need to do. Shengaon is a small place and everyone knows everyone else here. Most of the women in our group have been farming their whole lives. We started this company because we wanted to have more control over how our crops are sold and handled. Vidyatai is always there to open the door when we have a meeting. We usually just sit around and discuss the rains or which seeds we should try for the next season. It isn't a high-pressure environment, just a lot of practical talk about farming. Sometimes we have to deal with paperwork that feels a bit overwhelming, but we help each other through it. The village life is slow but the work in the fields is constant. We don’t have any big machinery or a massive warehouse, just the space we share. It’s important for us to have this connection because farming can be lonely if you're just on your own plot all day. We talk about the prices in the market and how to get our goods there safely. Every day brings a new challenge, whether it’s a pest problem or a dry spell. We just take it as it comes. We want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually stays within our community. It’s not just about the money; it’s about having a bit of say in our own lives.
