Down in Kumbhargaon, life mostly revolves around the sugar season and the heavy trucks moving through the village. Jay Sadguru Krupa Sugars Private Limited is right there at Gat No. 239/2. Kadegaon is a busy place once the harvesting starts in the Sangli and Kolhapur area. We aren't a massive factory that forgets the names of the people bringing in the cane. Most of us working here have dirt under our fingernails and know how the fields look before sunrise. The office stays noisy with the sound of tractors passing by all day long. It gets very dusty, and when the heat kicks in, it’s quite a struggle to stay focused. We started this operation because we needed a local place that actually understood the rhythm of our own soil. It’s hard to get everything right every day. Sometimes the machines break down or the scheduling gets messed up, and you can see the frustration on everyone's faces. We just sit down and talk it through over some chai. It’s practical, heavy work. We deal with the realities of the market prices which never seem to stay where you want them to be. People in the village know exactly where to find us if there’s a problem with a load. We don’t have time for polished meetings or fancy talk. We’d rather be out checking the crop. It’s a tough business, but it keeps our community moving forward.
