Jai Panhoba Farmer Producer Company

Jai Panhoba Farmer Producer Company is based in the village of Gavhali, in the Kannad taluka. We work out of Shri Madhao Kachru’s place. It’s a small operation, really just a bunch of us who have known each other since we were kids. In Gavhali, everyone is pretty much involved in farming one way or another. We thought it made sense to start a producer company so we could help each other out with the bigger tasks. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or a big office. Most of our meetings happen under a tree or on someone's porch. We talk about the rain, the seeds, and what the prices are doing at the market. It’s not always easy to get everyone on the same page, but we try our best. Being in Kannad, we have our own set of challenges with the land and the weather. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure we can keep our farms going for another year. People stop by Madhao’s place all the time to see what’s new or to just take a break from the fields. We don't have any corporate slogans. We are just people from Gavhali who know how to work the soil and are trying to do it a bit more collectively. It’s a simple goal and we take it one day at a time, making sure everyone gets a fair share of the effort.
