Gadana Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our setup is right at Nandu Rangnath Chavan’s house, number 88 in Gadana. It’s a small village in Maharashtra, nothing too big or flashy. We are just a group of farmers who decided to pool our efforts together. Being in a small place like Gadana means we all know each other’s families and how we farm. We don't have a dedicated office building, so we just use the space we have. Most days you can find us sitting on the porch talking about the weather or the price of fertilizers. Gadana Farmer Producer Company was born out of a need to work together instead of alone. We handle a variety of crops depending on the season. It’s not always easy, especially when the market is down or the pests get into the crops. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just talk to people and do our business face to face mostly. It’s very informal, but we get the work done. The house number 88 is where the ledger stays and where we sign the papers. Life here is simple. We follow the seasons and hope for the best. We are just trying to make sure our families are taken care of. If you visit, you’ll see the reality of farming life. It’s dusty, it’s hot, but it is our home. We are proud of what we grow here in Gadana and we plan to stay here doing exactly this.
