We operate out of an apartment in Solapur, specifically Flat I4 at Vidya Vihar. It’s on the second floor. It might seem a bit odd for a farming group to be in an apartment building, but it’s a good central spot for us to handle the administrative side of things for Anaghalakshmi Farmer Producer Company Limited. Most of our actual work happens in the fields outside the city, but this is where we keep the records and meet up to discuss our plans. We are a group of producers who wanted to organize better. Solapur is a busy place, and we are trying to bridge the gap between our rural farms and the urban market. We aren't a big corporation with lots of staff. It’s just a few of us handling the paperwork and making sure the other farmers get a fair deal for their hard work. Sometimes the stairs up to the second floor feel a bit long after a day out in the sun, but we make do. We focus on the practical side of farming. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We grow crops, we pack them, and we try to sell them. It’s pretty straightforward. Being in Vidya Vihar App gives us a steady base to work from. We’re just trying to make the business side of farming as solid as the farming itself. It’s a learning process for all of us here.
