Mahacharan Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our setup is at Ram Velas Yadav’s house in the village and post of Basahiya. This is the home of Mahacharan Farmer Producer Company Limited. It is a very rural area, and we like it that way. We are surrounded by the very fields that we work in every day. Ram Velas is a key part of our group, so his place was the natural choice for our main address. We don’t have much in the way of office furniture, just enough to get the bookkeeping done. Most of our meetings happen outside under the shade of the trees. We talk about the soil, the water, and how the crops are growing this year. Basahiya is a small place where people look out for each other. We formed this company because we realized that we could get more done if we pooled our resources. It is all very practical. We don't spend money on things we don't need. Every rupee goes back into the farming or the seeds. Sometimes the kids are running around while we are trying to count the bags, but that is just life in the village. We aren't trying to be anything other than what we are—local people who know how to grow things and want to make a living at it. If you need us, you just head towards the village and ask for the Yadav house.
