Down in Bisfi Hat, we have Prabhavati Farmers Producer Company Limited. It’s right in the heart of the Bisfi area. If you live around here, you know the post office and the local station. We are a collective of farmers who decided it was better to stick together. Farming on your own is getting harder every year. We gather at our spot in the village to discuss what we’re going to grow. It’s a very local thing. We know everyone’s name and whose kids are going to school. We aren't trying to be some massive entity. We just want to make sure the farmers in Bisfi get a fair shake. The office is pretty basic. A few chairs, a table, and maybe a fan if it’s really hot. We spend more time outside than inside anyway. We’re usually checking the soil or looking at the crops. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have any marketing brochures or fancy advertisements. People know us by word of mouth. We take care of our own. If someone is having a bad season, we try to help out. That’s the whole point of being a producer company. It’s about the people, not just the profits. We’re just regular folks who get our hands dirty every single day. That’s the reality of life in Bisfi. We don't need fancy things to get the work done. We just need each other and some good rain.
