Aamod Eco Village Cafe

Up in Kufri, near the Ihm, you will find Aamod Eco Village Cafe. We are at 171012, which is quite high up in the Shimla area. The weather here is almost always cool, and in the winter, we get plenty of snow. Running a cafe at this altitude has its challenges. We have to bring in most of our supplies from the main town, which takes time. The cafe is a small place where we serve hot drinks and some snacks. It’s not very big, just a few tables and a counter. We built it with a lot of wood and local materials because that’s what was available. Most of the people who stop by are tourists who are cold and want something warm to drink. We don't have a huge menu because the kitchen is tiny. We just do what we can with the space we have. My brother and I run the place most days. We spend a lot of time chopping wood for the heater. It’s a quiet life when the tourists aren't around. We don't use any fancy advertising. If someone walks in, we serve them. The view from the window is probably the best part, but for us, it’s just where we work. We try to keep things simple and honest. That’s about it for our little cafe in Kufri. We just keep the kettle boiling and wait for the next traveler to come through the door.
