Jothi Kids Nursery School

Jothi Kids Nursery School is right on 278C, Yercaud Main Road in the Gorimedu area of Salem. Being on the way to the hills, we see a lot of traffic going up and down the road. It’s a small place because we only deal with the little ones. The classrooms are filled with small chairs and tables that are just the right size for toddlers. We spend a lot of our morning dealing with the usual chaos of kids crying because they don't want to leave their parents, but they usually settle down once the toys come out. The walls are covered in drawings and charts that the teachers have made by hand. It isn't a silent place by any means; there is always someone singing a rhyme or shouting in the yard. We have a small outdoor area where they can play, but we have to keep a close eye on them because the main road is right there. The staff is mostly local women who have a lot of patience for the noise. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just a few rooms and a lot of energy. By the time noon rolls around, most of the kids are ready for their naps or waiting for their van to take them back home. It is a simple, noisy, and busy little spot.
