Kabir Farm

House No 49/499 is where Kabir Farm is based. We are near the Khedapati Hanuman Mandir, just in that little area opposite the gali. It’s a quiet place compared to the main road. We wake up when the temple bells start ringing in the morning. The farm is where we keep the animals and grow a few things. It’s not a massive estate, just our family land where we work every day. There is always mud on our boots and something that needs fixing, like a broken fence or a leaky trough. We don’t have an office with a computer. Most of our business happens right at the gate or over a cup of tea in the yard. We deal with the locals who need fresh produce or help with their own livestock. The gali can be narrow, so big trucks have a hard time getting in. We like it that way because it stays peaceful. Sometimes the monkeys from the temple come over and try to steal things, which is a bit of a headache. We don’t have a brand name or fancy packaging. People just know our house number and come by when they need something. It’s a slow life but it’s what we’ve always done. We just take it one day at a time and hope for good weather. There is usually someone around the yard if you need anything.
