Bina-Sagar Kisanfed Producer Company Limited is located right near the Galla Mandi on Khurai Road in Sagar. Shrikant Pathak is who we are with there. Being so close to the grain market makes a lot of sense for us because that is where all the action happens every day. You see the tractors and trucks coming in from early morning and it reminds you why we started this group. Sagar is a good place for farming but the farmers here often struggle to get a fair deal. We decided to pool our resources and see if we could make a difference by working as one unit. It is a producer company which sounds formal but really it is just us kisan trying to find a better way. We spend a lot of time talking on the roadside or near the mandi gates about crop prices and rain. The office at Shrikant’s place isn't anything special. It’s just a spot to sit and sign papers. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning. It’s mostly just tea and talk about the next harvest. Dealing with the government rules and the market can be a headache sometimes but we manage. We aren't trying to change the whole world. We just want to make sure the people in our part of Madhya Pradesh get what they deserve for their hard work in the soil.
