Tamater Rai Vegetable Farmer Producer Company Limited

Based out of Katlu Pur, our little group is known as Tamater Rai Vegetable Farmer Producer Company Limited. Jai Kuwar is the one who helps manage the operations from the address there. As you can probably tell from our name, we do a lot with tomatoes but we handle other vegetables too when the season is right. Katlu Pur is where we all live and work. It isn't a very large operation but we put in a lot of hours in the fields. We started this because we wanted to have more control over where our vegetables go after they are picked. Jai Kuwar handles the meetings and the paperwork which is a lot more than we expected when we first signed up. We have about a dozen families involved now and everyone chips in where they can. Sometimes the crop is great and other times the insects get to it before we can, but that is just part of the life. We sit around in the evenings and talk about the harvest and what we need for the next planting cycle. It is a very local thing and we don't really look much beyond Katlu Pur for now. We just want to make sure the work we do in the soil pays off and that our families are taken care of. It's practical work for practical people and we don't really know any other way of doing things besides this hard labor in the fields.
