Prantij Farmer Producer Company Limited

You can find us at Kiritkumar Manilal Patel’s place over in Takhatgadh. We are right in the Prantij area of Sabar Kantha. A bunch of us farmers got together to form this company because it makes more sense to work as a group than just trying to survive on our own. We do a lot of the work right from the post office area here. Most of the guys in our group have been farming these lands since they were kids. We grow what the soil allows and try to help each other out with getting the right supplies. It’s not always easy, especially when the rains are late or the pests get into the crops. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a spot where we meet up and talk about the harvest. People around here know us as neighbors first. We handle the paperwork and the selling part of the business together so we can get a fair deal. It’s a lot of talking under the shade and checking on the plants. Sabar Kantha is a tough place to work sometimes, but we like it. We focus on getting things done without making a big fuss about it. We’re just regular people trying to make a living from the earth. Sometimes the truck breaks down or the prices drop, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We stay busy with the daily chores and the records we have to keep.
