Suraj Birsa Public School

We’ve been here in Namkum for a while now, right at 62 Tatisilwai. It’s a busy spot in Ranchi, but the school is tucked away enough that it stays fairly quiet for the classes. Most mornings start with the sound of kids arriving on buses or being dropped off by their parents. We try to keep things running smoothly, though there’s always something to fix or a desk to move. Our building isn't fancy, just a practical space where teachers do their thing and students try to get their heads around math or history. Sometimes the power goes out, or the rain makes a mess of the driveway, but we manage. People around here know where we are. We see the same faces every day, which is nice because it feels like a real neighborhood spot. There’s a playground out back that gets a lot of use during the breaks. It can get loud, but that’s just how schools are. We focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the kids are actually learning something they can use later. We don’t have big glossy brochures or anything. Most parents just come in and talk to us directly if they have a question about their child. It’s a straightforward setup. We do our work, the kids do theirs, and we all head home when the bell rings at the end of the day. It works for us and the families here in Ranchi.
