Firstmark Public School

Up on Booty Road in the Bariatu area of Ranchi, you’ll find our school. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you’re coming through this part of town. The school sits quite near the main road so there’s usually a bit of traffic noise in the background during classes. We’ve got a mix of older and newer staff members working here. Most of us have been in Ranchi for a long time. The building is a sturdy one, though it shows its age in some of the corners. Inside, it’s just your standard school layout with hallways and classrooms. We have a playground that gets a lot of use during the afternoon break when the kids finally get to run around. You’ll see them out there even when it’s drizzling. We don’t have any fancy technology in every single room, just the essentials like chalk and boards. The hallways are a bit narrow, so it gets crowded when the bell rings at the end of the day. People around Bariatu know us well enough by now. We see the same faces every morning at the gate and say our hellos. Sometimes we have to deal with the typical city issues like water pipes leaking or the lights flickering, but we make it work. It’s a straightforward place with no hidden surprises. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing for the kids.
