Nirja Sahay Dav Public School

This school is located inside the Goshla Complex in the Kanke area of Ranchi. Kanke is a bit quieter than the main city, which is nice, but the 834006 area still gets its share of traffic during school hours. The complex itself has a few different things going on, but our school takes up a good chunk of the space. It is a DAV school, so there is a certain way we do things, starting with the morning prayers and the assembly out in the courtyard. The building is older, with high ceilings and heavy doors that sometimes stick when it gets humid. We have a lot of kids here, and their laughter and shouting are basically the soundtrack of our day. The staff room is a bit small for the number of teachers we have, so it gets pretty loud during the lunch break. We don't spend money on fancy decorations; we just keep the walls painted and the blackboards clean. The playground is mostly dirt and grass, which gets muddy when it rains, but the kids don't seem to mind. Our office is usually full of parents asking about fees or forms, and we just try to get through the stack of papers on the desk by the end of the day. It’s a simple school where we just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the building stays standing for another year. We just do our best to keep things orderly and calm.
