Montessori Learning School

Our place is located at 105 Bank Colony, right on the road that runs between Morabadi and Boreya. Being in a residential area like this makes the school feel more like a house than a big institution. We have been here in this part of Ranchi for a good amount of time. The building is a regular size and we make use of every corner we have. In the mornings, you can hear the kids arriving from the nearby houses. Most of the families live right around here in the colony. We have a few rooms dedicated to different age groups. We use a lot of hands-on materials because that is just how this type of learning works best. There is not a lot of lecturing going on. Instead, you will see teachers sitting on the floor with a group of children. The cupboards are full of maps, beads, and letter cards for them to use. It gets a bit cramped when everyone is inside at once during the rainy season, but we manage just fine. We have a small yard where they play during the break. The Boreya area has grown a lot lately, so there is more traffic on the road now than there used to be. We keep the main gate locked mostly. On rainy days, the kids stay in the main hall. It is nothing too complicated. We just show up and do the work every day.
