Mecon Limited has a spot at E 10 Shyamali Colony in Doranda, Ranchi. 834 002 is the area code. Shyamali Colony is a quiet place, lots of trees around which is nice when you need a break. Our office is just a house that’s been turned into a workspace, mostly. It has a very lived-in feel. We’ve got desks squeezed into the rooms and files everywhere. It’s not the kind of place you see in movies. It’s real. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea. Most of the time it’s just the sound of typing and the occasional phone ringing. We don’t put on airs here. If someone comes by, we just talk to them like regular people. We have our hands full with the local projects and the paperwork that never seems to end. Jharkhand is home for us. We know the neighbors and the local shops. Sometimes the monkeys come onto the roof and make a lot of noise, but we’re used to it. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the flashiest. We just want to do our part and keep the office running smoothly. It’s a practical life at E 10. Just us and our work, day in and day out. We get through the tasks and hope the printer doesn't jam again.
