Guru Nanak Hr Sec School

Tucked inside the Pepe Compound in Guru Nanak Pura, our school has a lot of history. Guru Nanak Hr Sec School has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s a busy area, so there is always something going on just outside the gates. The compound itself is a mix of things, which makes the morning walk-in quite interesting. To be honest, the building shows its age in a few places, but it holds up well enough for the daily rush. We have classrooms that have seen thousands of students over the years. You can still see where some kid carved their initials into a desk back in the nineties. It’s not a polished place, but it’s real. The staff room is usually crowded with papers and half-finished cups of tea. We don’t have fancy elevators or air conditioning everywhere, so we rely on big windows and the shade from the surrounding walls. It gets quite loud during recess, which is to be expected with so many teenagers around. Living and working here means you get used to the grit of the city. We focus on the basics here. Making sure there’s enough chalk, that the water cooler is full, and the bells ring on time. It’s a simple life at Guru Nanak Pura, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s just a place where kids come to finish their secondary years without any fuss or extra nonsense.
